UNDER THE RADAR | SPECIAL EVENTS

October 21, 7:30pm

Grace McNally has studied classical guitar since age five and graduated with BA in classical guitar performance from the College of Charleston under Grammy nominated guitarist Marc Regnier. Her debut album, “Full Circle”, which came out in May 2023, was featured on TEDx and explores the musical continuities between the Carolina low country, West Africa and South America.

Her performance for “Under the Radar” will showcase music and stories from “Full Circle” and related repertoire from the Lowcountry, West Africa and South America featuring highly acclaimed local Gullah gospel choir, The Plantation Singers.

Led by Lynnette White, The Plantation Singers have performed regionally and internationally for over 25 years. Their repertoire seeks to celebrate, preserve and foster an appreciation for Gullah spirituals from the Lowcountry.

This performance will be a fundraising benefit with a portion of ticket sales going to support local percussionist, Gino Castillo, in his battle with Leukemia.  The evening will be produced by Grace McNally, Redux Contemporary Arts, and Charleston Arts Festival.
