April 10 – PechaKucha 44

Charleston Arts Festival and Charleston Music Hall were elated to continue our city’s PechaKucha tradition with its FORTY-FOURTH edition on November 29, 2023.

The round of stellar superstar creatives for this very special evening included:


Alex Searles, artist and graphic designer

RW Smith, PURE Theatre core ensemble member    

Kip Bulwinkle, photographer

Carrie Wooden, collage artist and “Under the Radar” honoree

Mike Brown, vocal artist, song writer, and producer

Marcela Rabens, producer of Universal Latin News Charleston

Tim McNulty, principal of Hed Hi Media

Award-winning City Paper cartoonist, Steve Stegelin, designed his fourth poster for the PechaKucha machine.

Our emcee for the evening was LaFaye Benton, veteran of PK 41.  Josh Silverman AKA Professor Ping, house DJ for PechaKucha Charleston, was slinging the tunes as always. 

PechaKucha 43 was also notable as the eighteenth in CAF’s collaborations with CMH.


September 5 – PechaKucha 46

Charleston Arts Festival and Charleston Music Hall were elated to continue our city’s PechaKucha tradition with its FORTY-SIXTH edition on September 5, 2024.

The round of stellar superstar creatives for this very special evening included:

Graham Calabria, chef and owner of  Calabria’s Fine Foods  

Lissa Frenkel, President and CEO of the Gaillard Center

Asiah Mae, Poet Laureate of the City of Charleston

Grace McNally, studio manager of Ohm Radio and multi-talented musician

Clyde Moser, actor, producer and educator

Domenico Ruggerio and Fotios Pantazis, Executive Director and advisory board member of We Are Family

Michael Toscano, restaurateur at Le Farfalle, da Toscano, and Porchetta Shop

Karl Zurfluh, artist, muralist, and designer

Andy Brack, Editor and Publisher of Charleston City Paper and veteran of PK 42, was our emcee. 

As evermore, Josh Silverman rocked the Music Hall as our DJ.

In addition to presenting, Karl Zurfluh also provided the amazing imagery for the event’s signature poster and social media formats. 

PechaKucha 46 was also notable as the twentieth in CAF’s collaborations with CMH.
